♥ Apa di harap padi seberang...

Yesterday I had time to watch the drama on TV3 at 7.30pm since Maghrib nowadays are quite early. The title of the drama is Orang Gaji 41. Actually I think this drama has been aired before.

This drama has the Perakian dialect. But sometimes I think it's overdone and over-emphasized (the dialect).

I don't want to write about the synopsis of the story (even if I write about it, I wouldn't know much since yesterday was the first time watching it). What attracted me was a dialogue in last night's episode. The wife (Mak Encik - Azizah Mahzan) said 'buat apa menunggu dan mengharap kasih pada yang tidak sudi..'. She was referring to her husband (Mubarak Majid) who got married to his secretary (Sheila Rusly). And the maid (Ellie Suryati or her name in the drama - Pah Bedah) tried to convince Mak Encik to be patient and treat her husband as she did before the third person intruded her marriage life with her husband.

This drama made me remember old memories of my friends. The first one is about a friend from KL. She really likes to speak in other dialects. The best is the time when she kind of changed all the words in Perak dialect. Some of the words that I can recall are.. pikior (fikir), tercicior (tercicir), lutuik (lutut) and couple of others. We would all laugh so hard until it brought tears to our eyes. I really miss her and all the gang.

Another thing that made me remember one of my friends is the dialogue that Azizah Mahzan’s role had to say. The one about ‘ buat apa menunggu dan mengharap kasih pada yang tidak sudi.’ During my break-up time with Tomato, I read a novel I can’t remember by whom but if not mistaken the title is Puteri Lindungan Bulan. I seldom read Malay novels because of the writing style that does not make me eager to read further. Sometimes it takes me months to finish a Malay novel.

Back to the novel, there was one part where there is a Malay saying ‘…apa diharap padi seberang, entahkan jadi entahkan tidak… apa diharap kasihnya orang, entahkan sudi entahkan tidak…’

I was really touched by this saying maybe because my so-called relationship with Tomato just faded away and I did take time to realize this. I was so hoping to mend our relationship. But I guess that I just got tired of waiting and the truth struck me before I just sat there waiting for a miracle to happen and closed all doors to my heart, which I kept open only for Tomato. I knew it was a dumb thing to do. Why wait for someone that does not appreciate anything you do right? Well, as they say, ‘love IS blind’. Daaaaa…..

Am i really never good enough for you?
