♥ Pity Him Please...
Last night on RTM1, there was this live telecast on the launching of the second phase of Kempen Budi Bahasa, Nilai Murni at Stadium Negara. Among artist that were present were Siti Nurhaliza and Mawi.
The campaign has a good message in it and choosing Siti and Mawi to sing the campaign song is also a good way to send the message to the public.
But one thing about the launch of this campaign is the lack of practice or maybe none at all was done. This was aired on national television on a live telecast but the songs delivered were done by miming.
Okay, there is nothing wrong with miming when your lips are synchronized with the song aired. But when you mime without the right words coming out as the song is being played, it effects the singer's profesionalisme.
I am no expert in this but at least have pity on the singers here. I mean Mawi is a phenomena and has a strong base of fans. Siti had no problems with the miming part. Of course, she has experience and has been doing this for sometime. But Mawi, it was like making a fool of himself. I mean there was this part during the bridge Mawi acted as he was helping out his neighbour in sweeping. And suddenly his voice came out singing but he was still sweeping the floor. I guess he kind of realized it then on the second line of that verse and started miming again.
It was funny and a bit humiliating but that was aired live last night. Hopefully in the future, for Mawi, please do your homework and practice. For the organizers, make sure you have a rehearsal of the event especially those aired on live telecast. Show some profesionalism in your work.

♥ 80's Babies (grew up in that era)
I received an email from a friend of mine quite sometime ago. I saved the email and while I was searching for a proposal in my pc, I stumbled across this email again and smiled reading it since just this morning I was reminiscing tv shows when we were kids and games we played. So, here it is in my blog.
Kita membesar dgn menonton G-Force, He-man, Transformers, Thundercats,Silver Hawk, Woody Woodpecker, Chipmunks and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget Ninja Turtles, Mask, Smurfs dan Voltron.
Ooo..and among the best girlie cartoons were Jem and the Holograms, Care Bears and Rainbow Brite. Wow! I still have that bedsheet with Rainbow Brite and Care bears and Strawberry shortcakes. I'd have notebooks, pencils and other stationaries with these characters.
berus gigi time waktu rehat kat skolah rendah?...hmm, mesti pegang cawan warna-warni kan. mencangkung kat tepi parit dgn classmates semua kat seblah...ingat tak, misi kat skolah masuk kelas dgn list dentist appointment. pastu bunyi gigi member kite kene gerudi kat bilik sebelah. ada gigi yang berlubang, kene laa tampal.
I was really happy when the nurses and dentists come for the check up. At that time, I was really confused and felt weird when my friends would come with lame excuses just to get away and skip the check up. There was a friend who ditched school for the whole week!
ni sure korang igt...program minum susu di skolah. nak galakkan budak2 time tuh minum susu. sekotak 30 sen jek beb...
yupp... and it was great having chocolate milk. But there was a time when all the students were down with diarrhoea from the chocoloate milk. And I would just avoid going to the toilets at school.
cikgu2 kalau nak denda, mesti guna pembaris panjang
warna kuning tu. pukul tapak tangan...kan?
Emm.. not just that. But we'd be standing on chairs or even the tables if we didn't do our homework or couldn't answer the questions. And the regular punishments were being thrown by chalks or the duster and automatically we'd have our face 'touched up' by the dust from the duster. He..he..
semangkuk mi sup ke, mihun sup ke, 30 sen jek kat kantin. Hankyu Jaya, Yaohan - shopping complex yang popular utk meluangkan masa dgn family. ni for those yg dok KL laa time skolah menengah, korang sure beli kasut skolah Bata BM Turbo atau Pallas Jazz. ada yang suka kasut high-cut yang buatan china tu..ada yang suka stoking tebal laaa...
And we'd also sell what-ever-that-we-can-afford at school. Sagun in coloured paper with rambu on top, erasers, sweets, kerepek - you name them. Hankyu Jaya was like a shopping heaven to us kids. Hearing that we'd be going there, we'd behave just to get tit bits from parents. Pallas jazz - that time, wearing that made us belong to the 'cool' kids' group.
internet? email? mendalah ape tu? CD? ape tu? kaset tape penah laa dgr. tiket wayang pun 5 inggit je. kite pegi kedai runcit, beli Chickerdis, Mamee , Kum Kum, UFO, O-Ya, Ding Dang chocolate balls yang ada mainan kat dlm die, 'telur' keras warna warni,'rokok' chewing gum, KIKI Bubble Gum. tak dilupakan, 'Ti Kam'.
Don't say internet, even computers at that time was an alien word to us. I remember the ad in the tv... Tora datang lagi dengan bla.. bla..bla...
bile dah abih exam, main Monopoly la, Donkey la, Happy Family laa dlm class. tapi bunyi loceng laa yang paling best skali. boleh beli aiskrim ngan apek kat luar skola tuh... lagi satu loceng masa nak pegi rehat. tinggal kan keje skolah, jom kita pegi makan. budak2 yg dpt Rancangan Makanan Tambahan (RMT) mesti kluar awal. lagi satu yang seronok mase time Pendidikan Jasmani,PJ. main bola laa, rounders laa... permainan kegemaran, main guli, batu seremban, penutup botol, batang aiskrim, 'Pepsi Cola one-two-three', 'Police & Sentry', kejar2 duduk... kita hilangkan dahaga dgn aiskrim 10 sen. yang tube aiskrim, ada byk2 color tu. kalau nak makan, kene patahkan kat tengah2 die! lipat kertas kecik2, pastuh buat lastik. hmmm..ni pun kita main dulu ni. baling2 kapur laa. hmm...budak2 kat university skarang, kebanyakan nye
lahir thn 1987/88. skarang digelar 'remaja'.
bagi diorg, diorg mane penah dgr lagu 'We Are the World, We Are the Children...' dan lagu 'Uptown Girl' yang diorg tau, yg Westlife nyanyi....bkn Billy Joel nyanyi...

Diorg tak bley bayangkan skrin hitam putih utk sebuah komputer. Diorg tak penah tau 'Atari' dgn 'Game & Watch'.

2. kebanyakan member2 skolah menengah kite dah kawin
3. korg sure pelik bile nengok bdak2 kecik main komputer, selamba je
4. kita geleng kepala bile nengok bdak2 skolah menengah guna handphone
5. kita dah tak byk sembang2 dgn member melalui telefon lagi setiap

6. bile jumpe member lame dari semasa ke semasa, seronok bile bersembang pasal cerite2 lame, cerite2 kelakar yang kite alami mase dulu time kecik2, nakal2 dulu...
7. last skali, bile dah bace email ni, korang akan terpikir utk forwardkan dkt member2 lame korg. Sure diorg suke
punye laa...hehehe
Well, I still remember the tv series. Nowadays we will never miss Friends, SATC, The Apprentice, Fear Factor etc. But the 80's babies will never miss The A-team, Knight Rider and japanese dramas like Chiaki (Chiaki Matsumoto - the stewardess) and made me hurrying back to catch the series, Moero Attack - made everyone try out for volley ball because of the famous summersalt berpusing and also made me ditched sekolah agama for a whole month!, Miss Comet - the one that the mom is a star, Oshin - a story from a young girl until she became a grandmother, Gaban - more or less like Ultraman but the grandfather version and Kesatria Baja Hitam.
Well, those were the days.

♥ Of All These Days...
Yesterday I was sitting and having tea with my colleagues. Due to the cold that I had last weekend, I am left with a 'different' voice - the one that is a bit husky and sexy. My colleague commented about this and said that I should remain having this voice since it gives the 'manjaness' impression. I laughed and asked that person if my true voice shows what type of person am I. And the answer made me laugh out loud.
She said that I am strict the first time she reported for duty. I denied and laughed out loud. But since I was in a good mood yesterday, she even told me the whole story! I mean the first day she reported on duty, she said that I never had a smile on my face and I would somehow look at her from the corner of my eyes. I really sat back laughing and she told me one incident during our morning coffee breaks. She would peek in the tea room first to see if I was in there or not. If I was in there, she would return back to her desk and wait till I finish. And then there was this one day when I had my coffee break a bit later than usual and she was in there having breakfast. I sat down and had my coffee at one end and she had just started to eat her breakfast. The other colleagues had just finished their breakfast and started to head out to get back on their work. She told me that on that particular day, she trembled and suddenly felt full even though she was starving. She stopped and threw away the remains of her delicious breakfast and went out of the room immediately because of me. I was laughing out loud at this story and so were the other colleagues yesterday.
So, here I am wondering if I am that kind of person. I went asking my other colleagues. Some of them agreed with the statement and some were quite hesitant to give the answer.
Before this, my younger brother had told me about this once. My dad has also informed me about this and told me to smile often. But I usually take this matter as a joke and not that serious. And now, I am feeling a bit confused and keep wondering whether this is true or not. I tried changing the way I talk and look at people but I feel like I am totally a different person and not my own self.

Lioness - Looks tame but is a fierce animal
Anyway, I hope that people won't call me a singa betina when I get mad or furious. At least I am not up to that level. So, anyone who knows me in person, give your opinion about me here. And no, I won't bite you guys or have any hard feelings.

♥ Lost....

Lost in the clouds above.
I was talking to a colleague here today about being lost and not feeling secured about myself. The weather out here also seems to understand how I feel inside. I remembered those days when I would try to write poetry when this feeling comes in this sort of weather.
Why is it that I feel this way? Is it because of something or someone that I miss? Or the burden on my shoulders? Or I have nothing to look up to? I don't know why but it seems that I am 'killing' myself in a way. What way - I have no clue.
Pardon me but I have to search for my lost soul.
Am i really never good enough for you?

♥ A Refreshed Mind, Body & Soul... Not!
I had a splendid holiday in Sabah last week. The best part was that I managed to grab the zero fare from Air Asia. And I only had to spend RM130 for the air fare (tax) and accomodation!

Tickets to and fro... Now Everyone Can Fly!
I spent my holiday in Kota Kinabalu and went bargaining at the Philipino Market. I regret for not having time to explore Kundasang and the Mount Kinabalu. But one thing for sure, I enjoyed the Manukan Island.

Entering Manukan Island
Even though I did not have the chance to swim and snorkel for some circumstances, but I did have fun. Taking pictures and just enjoying the sun and the sea breeze. It was so overwhelming and relaxing. I sat at the picnic tables under the trees and enjoyed the panoramic view of the clear water. My friends who went swimming and snorkeling could not get enough of playing with fishes there. Even from the jetty, you could see the fishes swimming and the bottom of the sea. It was indeed a great way to relax and release your tension and pressure from work.

Well, now I am back at work with a sunburn and a cold. I have been sneezing and coughing and my head is throbbing. But at least, I have had my rest. Oh by the way, if you guys want to check out the pictures in Sabah, click here. Till then, adios!
