♥ Happy Birthday Cik Tun!!

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to Cik Tun
Happy birthday to you!!!!

Today is Cik Tun's birthday. Cik Tun is a simple girl from Setiawan, Perak. The first time we said hi to each other was during a nasyid concert held in the hall of our university. We just exchanged hi's and smiles. Nothing much happened since we were in different courses.

During the co-curricular course, I chose angklung. That was when we met again. But we never did have anything in common and we were in different courses at that time. The only time that we'd meet was during angklung and in our college (hostel).

The second year, we had to perform angklung during the university's convocation. We were the pioneer batch of angklung. I played the base angklung and Cik Tun played the can't remember what's its name angklung. And that semester, I got to know Cik Tun's friends (which happened to stay at the same college), Chacha, Imah and Pe'. They were also taking angklung as the co-curricular subject. So, I got to know them as well.

lakonan
The drama. Really love this picture. Everyone seemed happy.

There was one night when I went to Cik Tun's room (at that time her roommates were Chacha, Imah and Lia). I can't recall why I went to her room that night but one thing that I could remember was that that night, they were going to watch Stepmom (starring Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon). At that time, there were quite a few of angklungians (ha..ha.. betul ke?) watching as well. So, Cik Tun, Chacha and Imah asked me if I'd like to join. I said yes. So that night, all of the people in that particular room cried watching that movie. We wanted to feel like we're watching the movie at the cinema, so, we switched off the lights and watched the movie from Chacha's pc. Once the lights were switched back on, we could see everyone had red puffy eyes and we said that that movie was so touching.

From that moment on and the angklung performance, we developed a close bond with each other. End of my second year, I had a crisis with my roommate which I do not want to remember at all. I felt hurt and I would go to their room to get away from my room. I would only be back when it was late and she would be asleep. Another thing that made us more closer to each other was when my block decided to perform a hindustan dance from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai for our open college day and there was a competition for the girls' performances. My block took part in it and we performed the Koi Mil Gaya dance but I did not join them at first. I would just sit there and watch them practise. I love dancing actually. So I just sat there and watched them and I would memorize their steps while watching them. One day, I just got up and followed their steps from behind. On the actual day that they had to perform, one of the juniors were ill, so they had to either dismiss the junior's partner or find a replacement. They knocked on my door and asked me if I'd be interested since they know that I have memorized their steps. So, I just agreed I guess. I can't remember if we won, but I had a great time.

My final year. I had to move to a different block from Chacha, Imah, Cik Tun and Pe'. Chacha and Imah were roommates and their room was a door away from Cik Tun and Pe'. I got a new roommate from Johor. She is so nice that sometimes I feel like I am the bad one. Ha..ha.. But my second room was Chacha's and Imah's room. I would leave my spare clothes, towels and toiletries in their room and sometime (most of the times actually), I would sleep in their room. We would watch movies in Chacha's room or Cik Tun's room. And during the fasting month, I would break fast at their room. All five of us. And there was one time when Cik Tun was a bit 'angry' because I did not volunteer to buy the food for breaking fast since my classes would end at 6.30pm everyday. Angry ke Cik Tun? Lebih kurang macam tula. Ha..ha..

There was one incident when I pinched Cik Tun for sharing something with the others. I can't remember what and was a bit hurt by her actions. She winced in pain and was quite shocked by my reactions. I just went away and kept quiet. We were a bit cool with each other. But then, I appologized and said that I did not mean to hurt her and she also said that she was surprised and a bit taken aback by my actions. After that, we were okay. Ingat tak Cik Tun? Kenangan tu.

Oh ya, lupa pulak. The nasyid concert. I took pictures of Cik Tun's cousin. I did not know that the 'mamat' in the picture is her cousin. Emm.. Cik Tun, I have to confess something to you. I had a crush on your cousin in my schooldays. And that 'mamat' made my seniors scold me for flirting with him which I did not do. That picture was purely taken for Yasin's face. I did not realize that your cousin enterframed in that picture until it was developed. Ha..ha..

Remember our project? The Millennium Night Tracking. Amerizal Alias? Ha..ha.. Lawak kan?

And our trip to Langkawi. We had so much fun even the ferry captain invited us in the captain's deck. And at the Taman Buaya, ingat tak pakcik yang nak ambil gambar dengan kamera facing him? Ha..ha.. lawak betul rasanya.

pakciktmnbuaya

I just can't seem to stop smiling remembering those days. It has been 5 years since we graduated. The last time we met was last year during your cousin's convocation. But we did not have much time to chit chat. But it was great seeing you again. Chacha, Imah, Pe', Za and Cik Tun... jadi ke tak reunion kita tahun ni?

Cik Tun, I wish all the best for you this year and onwards. May your day today and onwards be filled with joy, happiness and success. It is an honour to have a great friend like you. Thank you for being my friend and sorry if I have hurt you in any way during our friendship. Have a great day today, Happy birthday Cik Tun.

♥ Full House vs Dalam Hati Ada Cinta 3

If anyone asks me which do I prefer among drama series, Malay, Philipines, Spanish, Indonesian, Japan and Korean, I would say that I love Japanese followed by Korean and Malaysian and Indonesian in the third place. Why? I also do not know why. But what I know is that I have been addicted to Japanese drama for a long time. I even have a collection of CDs.

full house1full house

Currently, 8TV is airing a Korean Drama at 8.30pm. The title of the drama is Full House. I do not know the actors nor their names in this drama. I have only watched here and there but I have come to love this drama.

suami
The husband

isteri
The wife

pakwe
The wife's admirer

makwe
Husband's admirer

It is about a couple who have got married under a contract signed by both of them. I do not know how that happened and why. But they have fallen in love with each other. The actor and actress playing the role as the husband and wife are so cute and look like they are too young to be married.

This drama has shown that people can fall in love with each other after getting to know them better. I believe in love after marriage because that seems more sincere compared to when we are dating. But it depends on the situation actually.

Last night was the last episode of Dalam Hati Ada Cinta 3. I used love to watch this drama but since it has part 2, part 3 and most probably part 4, I tend to hate the drama. Not because of the suspence but because the storyline is so slow.

This time, the ending showed that Alia (Umie Aida) and Wan (Ako Mustapha) agreed to be only friends which in Alia's face showed that she really did not want to be just friends but more than that. It was as if she was hoping that Wan would disagree with her desicion. But apa nak buat, Wan setuju. There was a bit of frustration in the eyes of Alia.

Kadangkala wanita memang begitu. Nak salahkan lelaki? Tak boleh 100%, sebab we came up with the idea. Nak tarik balik kata-kata cadangan tadi, takut dikata tak berpendirian dan tak nak la pula dikatakan terlalu mengharap. Adakalanya wanita ingin menduga pihak lelaki sama ada kita benar-benar someone to him ataupun sekadar kawan. Akhirnya, diri sendiri menjadi mangsa ketelanjuran kata.

Bak lagu Dewa, baru ku sadari, cintaku bertepuk sebelah tangan....

Anyway, can't wait to go to Sogo to get the complete set of the drama. The price is cheaper there for Japanese Dramas and Korean Dramas. Maybe this weekend I'll try to get the complete set.

♥ Mawimania

Asmawi bin Ani. A name that has been on our minds and being heard everywhere we go for the past 10 weeks. Asmawi himself never thought that this would happen.

Mawi during the audition of AF3

Raised in Felda Taib Andak, Kulai Johor, this lad never have thought that being a contestant in the famous reality show, Akademi Fantasia would change his life forever. His simple life and character really made Malaysians have a fever caused by a phenomenon called ‘Tsumawi’.

Last Saturday, Asmawi better known as Mawi won all the categories in Akademi Fantasia. The best vocals, best performance and first place in AF were his. He was crowned as the winner of AF, which was a bit expected.

mawi serojamawi aduh saliha

His performance last Saturday was enjoyable and has shown a lot of improvement. I liked the way he sang Seroja. It was full of emotion and you can feel the emotions from his voice and the way his eyes looked. His voice made me have the goose bumps all over. Even there was a part that was out of tempo, which was very minor and not so obvious as Beautiful Maria, but it did sound good and had a refreshing tune to it.

Aduh Saliha – aduh duh duh duh (like the dangdut song). I liked the music arrangements especially this part:

Kau biarkan aku sendiri menderita siksa
Racun hidupku Saliha
Kau biarkan aku sendiri melewati sepi
Dalam hidupku Saliha
Kau biarkan aku sendiri meratapi nasib
Dalam gelita Saliha

Not only this part but also all of it. And the best part is his voice really suits this genre.

mawi stunned
Stunned

The end of the concert, as Mawi was crowned as the winner of AF3, his face and expression was purely touched. He could not believe it that he won all the awards. Even when Aznil announced the winner of AFVOKAL and AFBAIK, he was really surprised as if he felt that he did not deserve the award.

mawi1
Mawi - the victory speech

He even shed tears when he was crowned the winner. And his victory speech was really down to earth and humble.

I never thought that I would like Mawi this much because in the early days of AF3, I also asked myself and others about Mawi and what is so special about this guy. But as time past by, in the end, I have found the answer.

The sincerity of this boy from Felda Taib Andak, Kulai, Johor and his humbleness and honesty has made him the idol of all teenagers, the role model of a son-in-law and the best example of the ‘perfect husband’ for the ladies.

Mawi, all the best in your future career. Once at the top, never change to someone who forgets his roots and where you have come from. One thing for sure, I am going to miss my days without Akademi Fantasia and Mawi.

♥ Aduh Saleha

Last night, I was a bit tired. So, I didn't paid much attention to the diary episodes. As I was watching the daily recaps of AF, Mawi was practising his new song - Aduh Saleha. Suddenly I was thinking of something I never thought about before.

Why did M. Nasir gave the title Aduh Saleha? Is there any specific reason why M. Nasir chose that title? And then I remembered.

It may be a coincidence but it may be on purpose too. I'll insert the article here that was out in Berita Minggu.

Mawi Model Melayu Baru Terkini

Berita Minggu - 10 Julai 2005

Benarkah begitu?

Fenomena ‘tsumawi’

Siapa undi Mawi?

PM mempersonifikasi model Melayu baru yang ada jati diri, confidence in his Islamic and Malaysian Malay identity, mampu berinteraksi pada peringkat global.

So, I was wondering is this song specially dedicated to Prof. Madya Saliha Hassan? I do not know the exact lyrics of the song, but what I do know is that Prof. Madya Saliha is a unique lady and I like her way of thinking. Seriously, she is different and unique. And very friendly too.

♥ Crime Scene Investigation

This morning, on the way to work, I turned on the radio. I usually listen to Era but on the road, I prefer Hitz.fm. I really like the gotcha calls which sometimes are funny.

This morning, they were comparing three heros from CSI Las Vegas, CSI Miami and CSI New York. Rudy and JJ asked the listeners among the three, who do we dislike and why. Something like that, I can't really remember the exact words. And the best part was that they (Rudy and JJ) dislike Horatio Caine (CSI Miami) because he seems a bit too cool and too suspicious. And there was also a caller saying that she does not like Horatio Caine. I didn't get why she didn't like him.

I would answer differently. I would say that I do not really like Mac Taylor (CSI New York). Maybe because of his stern looks handling a case. Actually he is trying to focus and trying to be serious. And there is another factor that I don't like him. He starred in Ransom being the 'evil'cop and from that day, I have never liked this guy. Pathetic right? But what can I say. That role in Ransom really made me hate him. Horatio is my favourite CSI and followed by Grissom. My mom also likes Horatio.

Why Horatio? Hmmmm.. handsome? Yup.. definitely. But it's not because of that. It's just that he is cool and calm handling cases even if he is under pressure. Well, some may say that he is just acting. But actually, he seems so calm and cool even when he is not acting. Air muka dia memang macam tu.

♥ Mencari Cinta

I am so into reality tv shows. I started to get hook in the early days of Fear Factor and then the AF Fever, moved on to The Amazing Race, The Apprentice, Average Joe and the latest is Mencari Cinta.

Actually, I was not into this kind of reality tv show because Mencari Cinta is more like finding the soulmate for you and in the Malay culture, it is a bit secretive when it comes to finding the soulmate. I mean we have this sort of shyness and berlapik when it comes to marriage and finding our other half.

At first, I watched this series just to see whether this show will be a success in Malaysia and who will volunterily be in the show as the contestant. The first time I watched the series was the second episode, I was still at the office and watched it with a couple of my officemates. And I found that some of the contestants were quite interesting. I mean you can see different qualities in them and Elly, the one who is trying to find her love seemed sometimes beautiful, and sometimes ordinary. I mean I was thinking that with her looks, she can find her other half outside quite easily. I never got it why she chose to appear in the series.

Anyway, that's her choice. I started to follow the series after the first elimination. It was Hasrul. Maybe he was eliminated for being too careful. I don't know why Elly eliminated him. But what I know is that quite a lot of MC's followers gave comments regarding the elimination.

Among the bachelors, I kind of like Khairul for his maturity. You can see that he is matured compared to others. Azary - another favourite bachelor of mine. He is a bit secretive but lively at times. He seems to think a lot. The cute bachelor - Danny. Looks like a quite person, but is good at winning your heart. He really does his homework to win Elly's heart. These three are my favourite for the time being. Only watched twice so, maybe others may come to stand out from the rest.

But last night's elimination was quite shocking to me as well as the other contestants. Who ever thought that Azary would be eliminated as early as the second contestant? Most of the guys were in shock and gave comments stating that Azary is a good guy and they would choose him as their husband (if they were ladies).

azary mc

The reason given by Elly's family was that he did not show much interest in her. Well, what do you expect. Only the third time and you expect a person to show interest in you is quite difficult. I mean you need time to see whether she's the one or not. But I guess it's better for Azary to be eliminated now rather than later. He can find his other half out there and I believe that many women would like a guy like him. Azary, you have not failed in finding the right one. It's just that you were not meant to be hurt more in the series. All the best in finding your true love out there.

♥ End of the Season

This week is the last week for AF's die hard fans to watch the finals compete and show what they are after 10 weeks of training in the academy. I got to watch the diary episodes at home due to health problems. Orang lain demam nak kebah dah, I baru nak mula. He..he.. Nah.. I am on leave to rest actually from my trip to Penang and was planning to do some shopping today, but since I am down with the flu, I just stayed home instead and caught the diary episodes at 12pm. Before that, sorry Emy cause I didn't smsed you while I was there in Penang. Actually, I was there only for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. I headed up north to Sungai Petani and had to rush here and there.

Today's episode was okay I guess. I do not know how to write the recaps as I didn't take any notes and I was sneezing a couple of times and was concentrating to sneeze because it really feels good when you do. So, I was just enjoying the show on and off.

The final four have really showed improvement in their techniques and style of singing. I really can't wait to watch them this weekend with their new composed songs. I mean, even listening to a glimpse of Felix singing and trying to get the feel of his new song after admiting to not like it sounded quite good. And Amylea's song I think will be a big hit. Listening to her sing last night for the first time and only a part of the song made me fell in love instantly. Today, in AAH's class, I knew that I have fallen in love with Amylea's song.

This weekend will be the last concert for this season. Who will bring back the Suzuki Swift? I guess many have guessed it right from the first time the boy from Kulai, Johor was accepted in the Academy for the second intake. I have seen improvement in Mawi from the second concert after changing the melody of the song and forgetting lyrics to someone who knows how to sing in the tempo and not just screaming his lungs out to reach the high notes. The person who was claimed to be a bit 'lupa diri' after seeing the support from fans out there to someone who still stays humble and trying to fulfill his fans expectation. Mawi has bloomed and grown out to be a talented singer with a very unique tone. But he still has a long way to improve on his vocal capabilities. Overall, I do see a huge improvement in Mawi. Good luck for the final concert.

Felix. The guy who was expressionless in the Prelude Concert when singing Bob's ever famous Cinta Seorang Teman. Even Bob did winced at the final concert last season when he sang that song. Felix who reached the highest note in Tiada Lagi Kidungmu and fascinated the whole audience by reaching that note without ruining the melody at all but was still expressionless. The guy from Sabah who impressed the audiences with his dangdut song - Aku Semut Merah and was taught how to say the words clearly with the mouth wide open in the concert for jaw flexibility to make the words sound clearer. The so-called twin of Wahid Satay and Mawi's twin as Mr. Bean. From just an expressionless singer to a very talented guy who now knows how express his songs, Felix has really bloomed. Not just a comedian, but a true singer with good vocals as well. But he still has to improve on the high notes to avoid injury in his vocal chords. And I see him as one of the best male vocals in AF throughout this season. All the best to you Felix.

Amylea. First time I saw her in Trek Selebriti during auditions, I was truly amazed by this girl's style of singing. She really does have the voice. All the way from Langkawi and with that funky hair style, some may not like her. Some say that she is immatured but what do you expect from a 19 year old girl being far away from her parents and having to live with new friends and new surroundings. She has never failed to complete her task every week without giving the best in her performance. This petite girl who really thinks that she is not beautiful has shown the beauty from within her that not other people can deliver and outshines the beauty from others. She will grow up and be more matured, but give her time. Give her any song, she will not fail to entertain you with her strong and lovely vocals. I see a bright future in you Amylea. All the best, be strong and stand up proud. Be proud of who you are and never let anyone make you think less of yourself. I really hope she gets the best vocals award in AF this season.

Marsha. Frankly speaking, I never did like this girl. Okay, some may say that we, women are jealous. No, it's not because of that. But I see her a bit childish, seductive and flirtatious. Yeah.. I know, people will say I am jealous. Anyway, that was what I felt in first few weeks. It's not about jealousy or anything, but I do not want to be that way and giving bad impression to others. I mean you never know how guys take it. Some may adore you and others might play around with you. So, that's the reason I do not like people that give signs that we 'need' them to survive. Be strong, show confidence and never show that we desparately need them (which we do, but just don't show it too much). Okay back to Marsha. I was mesmerized with her during the concert where she sang Destiny. She is so sweet and looked so strong and yet seemed vulnerable. I started liking her then but then was a bit disappointed when she sang Jambatan Tamparuli with all the seductive and flirtatious moves (well it seemed like it). And she never gives 100% of her true vocals which I know is superbly beautiful and can make you float in thin air. But these past few weeks, I can that she has changed to be a bit stronger and hide the vulnerable side of her. I missed the last concert so I don't know how she did and the others as well, but I think she has proved that she is not purposely being flirtatious but it is herself. And she is trying to hide it when it is not supposed to be shown. I know that Marsha can go far in the industry with her looks and talent. So good luck to you.

I can't wait for this weekend. At least the AF fever will be cured for this year and will be back somewhere in May next year. I have learnt from the first season of AF to not vote and give easy money to ASTRO and Maxis. That season costed me nearly 5K for voting. So, I guess from that season, I just sat back and enjoyed the show.

Am i really never good enough for you?
