♥ Selamat Pengantin Baru

It has been quite sometime since I last went back to my mother's hometown let alone my father's hometown. If I am not mistaken, the last time was last Hari Raya. Previously, I would tag along if my parents went back. But nowadays, I seldomly find the time 'appropriate' for me to follow. Either it is because I have to settle urgent matters in the office or just plain tired (what an excuse right?)

Well last Saturday, I did went back to my mother's hometown in Melaka - Masjid Tanah to be exact. The actual purpose was to attend my mother's cousin's wedding (kiranya pangkat pakcik to me). The groom is a year younger than me and is still studying to finish his degree somewhere.

The theme colour was green - hijau pucuk pisang. That is the colour trend nowadays. Luckily the groom is quite fair. I didn't stay long until the bride arrived because we (my parents and I) had plans to visit my youngest brother in Jasin. And the wedding ceremony was quite a grand ceremony with deejays and all. And you can imagine Melaka right? With the famous joget lambak and singing out of pitch and silat stuff right? Well, I don't know what happened after we left but one thing for sure, the singing out of pitch did happen. And I think that they were closely to have the joget lambak because the songs were mainly from the 60's and 70's. Satu lagu yang dimainkan masa I tengah makan was R. Azmi's song yang ada 'pakai baju kancingla suasa'. I almost choked listening to the pakcik yang nyanyikan lagu tu.

Eventhough that we (the groom and I) are related in a way, it has been ages I guess since we talked to each other. If I do visit them on Hari Raya, he would be out or sleeping in his room. Not only him, but his eldest brother as well. He has one brother and one sister. But his brother and sister does spend time with us especially on Hari Raya. One thing that I notice is there is some inferiority between them. Like if Along (the eldest) is talking with me and comes his twin sister, he will just shut his mouth and leave. I thought there was something urgent to settle or what so ever. But I was wrong. He would just go away and do something else. And I do not know why. But the answer that I have come up with is that his parents will compare him with his siblings and he will feel down with that. Anyway, with us, he is okay and we do not judge him by what his parents say about him.

The ceremony was quite a grand ceremony and I met with my grandmother from Singapore (my mom's aunt). That was the first time meeting with relatives from Singapore. Actually when I was in primary school I did meet with them. But that was a long time ago.

Well, at least I got to meet up with my cousins and aunts and uncles on the day but the not so good part is the question when will it be my turn. The answer is - TUNGGGUUUUUU!!! Naahh.. just kidding.

Selamat Pengantin Baru to H and SS. Moga kekal bahagia ke anak cucu.

Am i really never good enough for you?
