♥ The 'Evil' Side

I always wonder about the ‘evil’ side of people. I try to see people from their best side. That’s why sometimes people say that I am friendly. Ha..ha.. see.. I’m bragging about me again (macam masuk bakul angkat sendiri la ni). Sometimes I do get the feeling about people with ‘evil’ power in a new friend, but I seldom layan these feelings without giving them a chance to let them show their real self.

Last night’s episode of The Amazing Race really did hit me. People can be bitchy at times. And this is the time to test one’s patience. All 8 teams departed from Gores Island, Senegal after giving their tribute to the African slaves at the Goree Slave House. It was a touching moment to Gus and Hera. The gate at the end of the house was beautiful since it was to the sea. After the tribute, the teams were headed to Berlin, Germany. I was really impressed by the beautiful buildings and the scenery at Berlin. On the way to the airport from Goree Island, Kendra was a bit arrogant and was saying that she was glad to leave the country. She said that she could not stand the heat, the poverty and the smell of Africa anymore. She also commented that the people there only knew how to breed even though they were poor. I know that some people come from the rich and famous and others are just living their lives day by day. What Kendra said was a bit of insulting the people of Senegal if they heard it. Even though the country was a poor country and sometimes the people scares me (the way they dress), but they have been quite helpful to them getting to places and completing tasks.

Another incident happened while they were booking tickets to Berlin. This time the argument was between couples Aaron and Hayden with Lori and Bolo. I missed the cause of the incident. Well it was not a big scene but when Hayden started to push Bolo, it seemed like she was going to start a fight with him. And the best part is that she accused Bolo of taking steroids. I would be a bit scared if I was in her shoes. You don’t want to end up in a physical fight with a body full of muscles like Bolo. But in the end, they just apologized to each other and Bolo said that he doesn’t take steroids. That made Hayden laugh and the situation just changed from a serious conflict to a light situation full of laughter.

In Berlin, they came to a detour. It was either making sausages or serving beer and collecting coasters with their pictures printed on them. Both tasks weren’t that hard, but the serving of beer might take time. If I heard clearly, the casing of the sausages are made from pig’s intestine. Euuuuuuwwwwwwww.. gross.

After completing the detour, they came to the roadblock. The roadblock was fun. They had to climb up a hill and ride downhill in a racing car without engines (it looked more like a wagon and I can’t recall the name of it). Most of the teams let the women do the task.

They were then asked to check in at the pit stop. On the way there, Jonathan was really torturing Victoria. In the early episodes, he did show his rudeness to his girlfriend and always blaming her to be late, not fit enough, not trying hard enough and giving false information. Even Lena and Kristy (my favorite team that has been eliminated) was shocked by the way he was finding the mistakes Victoria did which seems that he doesn’t have any respect for her. This time he was just finding faults and excuses and blaming Victoria for not making it to the pit stop first place. And when they arrived, he kept whining and complaining and Victoria just burst into tears. Actually he was the one that contributed to the problem. He wanted to leave his knapsack behind and just run for the pit stop. But Victoria was worried that someone would take the knapsack if he left it behind. She was carrying her own knapsack along with Jonathan’s knapsack and running like hell huffing and puffing and crying. But she still went on following Jonathan who was carrying nothing! And what made Jonathan more furious was that Fred and Kendra ran past them and arrived first at the pit stop. When Jonathan and Victoria arrived, she was still crying and he was still whining and saying that Victoria did not give her full commitment to finish the leg of the race in front of Phil and a German who greeted them at the pit stop. Phil was more considerate and asked Jonathan to console Victoria who was really in tears after the insult from him. I guess Phil is more concern than Jonathan. Jonathan is extremely ego and I do not like him at all. I really pity Victoria and I would leave him after this race if I were in her shoes.

The last team to arrive was the grandparents – Don and Mary Jean. I was a bit sad to see them leave but I knew that they would be among the early teams to be eliminated. I guess that they did a terrific job in running the race.
