♥ Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason
I really love bloghopping and make a visit to other blogs. I recently (well, a week ago if I'm not mistaken) visited Emy's blog (again.. he..he..). I noticed there have been some new released movies on CD (especially pirated ones). I haven't been to the pasar malam for quite sometime so, I don't have any ideas about the new movies. But when I went to Emy's blog, I jotted down some titles to be looked up.
Last Tuesday, I made myself an appointment to the pasar malam and my ultimate goal was to buy CDs. And I did buy 5 CDs and got one free. Among the stories was Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (refer to Emy's entry on the 22nd of November 2004).
I am not going to write about the whole synopsis of the story but about the message behind the story. In certain ways, I am a bit like BJ. But not all of the character of BJ. What I want to write about is about BJ's boyfriend, Mark. Sometimes as a woman and a girlfriend, we tend to ask our partner about their feelings towards us. And even it's hard to spit it out, it is important because we don't want to be the one waiting for something that is not sure or final. I know it’s hard for some guys to admit their feelings. It has something to do with ego and pride (sorry guys, no offense). But at least make the status of the relationship clear to the women. At least we know where we stand.
The movie really touched me because Mark accepts BJ as the way she is and he doesn't even bother to change her in any way. Wow.. how I wish I am just as lucky as BJ. It's really hard to find a guy like Mark these days. But I know that there are guys out there that are like Mark. I just haven't had the chance to meet any of them. I'd like to quote Emy's saying
