♥ Yippie..yippie..yea..yea
Finally I have some time to rest and relax. My workload has been reaching the ceiling for the past few weeks. And yesterday, I finally got to have them done. For now, I guess. The best part is all the hassle and tension of it kind of made me thrilled and exhilirated. This made me wonder, am I a workaholic as my mom would put it that way since I really enjoy coming back late from work eventhough it only takes 15 minutes to reach home and there's no traffic jam? Hmmm... maybe.
I have no life out there. Eventhough I do have friends, but they seem to fade away. Ha..ha.. go ahead put the blame on them. Actually it is me myself who sometimes withdraw from all the social events. Well, put it this way. I have a hard time getting permission from my parents (especially my mom) to go out and hang out with friends every weekend. So, I kind of like make my friends to fade away. Okay, I am guilty as charged.
Anyway, the big burden of workload has been lifted off my shoulders yesterday. I know that I have more coming but at least I can relax (not totally relax but just not torturing my brain and do things one at a time).
Another thing that made me happy yesterday was a chit chat with a person I have had a crush on. And not just chit chatting, but we kind of had a heart to heart conversation (as I would put it even maybe not that close). I was really happy. I mean, imagine you had a crush on a person for so long and one day, that person kind of spent time with you even though he/she could have choosen not to. Wouldn't that make you feel something? Like that is a 'sign' or some sort of it? Speaking of signs, I just can't help remembering this 'sign' phenomena that kind of occured on V day to a friend of mine. And I think that I have been 'cursed' with this sign thingy too! ha..ha..

Love is all around...
Well, I am just happy and cheerful today. And this smile seems to be tatooed on my face since yesterday. One thing for sure, I'm in the mood for love. Ha..ha..
p/s: I just can't wait for this weekend. I'll be on leave for my holiday the whole week next week. Yippie!!

♥ Two million!!
Last Saturday, Malaysia was once again shocked with the news that Universiti Malaya was robbed. Well, not UM actually but the bank inside the campus or the security service responsible to transfer million ringgit from the ATM machines to the bank and vice versa.
This happened just a few days (or weeks - I can't recall) after the robbery in Sg. Chua and has more or less the same modus operandi- the security service van was robbed.
On Sunday, a TV station (can't seem to recall which tv station but I think it was TV3) interviewed students in UM and asking what they felt after the incident. Surely as presumed, they would say that the university must ensure the safety of the campus, the security guards must be trained and one even said that they must be able to handle armed weapons.
I was like what? You want the security guards in the campus to be strict like the armed forces? Try going to Wardieburn Camp or Mindef. The security for visitors are strict (sometimes extremely strict). Okay, this girl commented that the security guards in the campus should be well trained with armed weapons. Hello... people with armed weapons in your campus is like a total fright. What if some mishaps happen and the security guard melatahed and accidently fired the weapon. Or a real burglar stole the weapon? Wouldn't it be a disaster?
Another comment made was that the security guards should guard the campus especially at the main entrance and check every vehicle that goes in and comes out of the campus. Okay, let me bring you the scenario here (from my experience during my university years and the universities around here that I know).
Checking every vehicle entering the campus is a good idea. But sometimes I do think that it is impossible for the time being. Okay, let's start with Universiti Malaya. If the security guards play the role in checking every vehicle going in, then the highway in front of the university would be jammed and congested with vehilces.
Another example - UKM. There are 3 entrances to the campus. But the main entrance is directly after a traffic light. Even now, without the guards checking every vehilce going in to UKM, the jam is sometimes from the roundabout (approximately 2 km from the traffic light!) If they were to implement the security check, arriving at 7.30 am would be a disaster let alone at 8.00 am!
UUM can implement the security check because it is way out of the way of giving any trouble or traffic jams.
UPM - I can't see any security guards at the entrance of the university except at the new gate. UPM would definitely have problems in implementing this because they share the same main road with other bodies such as MARDI and Jabatan Pertanian.
There will also be another problem. All public transport (buses and taxis) will have to be stopped at the gate. Or another way is that no public buses are allowed in the campus. But guess waht? Who will be complaining in Kosmo? Students again.
This issue is a big issue. But there are certain parties that will have to sacrifice if they want to implement or enforcing tighter securities at the entrance of the campus.
Well, let's just lay back and see what the solution might be. This is just about the campus. Maybe my next entry would be about the security service given by companies handling transporting money.
Have a nice weekend everyone!
